Many of us consider ourselves experts on driving laws. We all have to know them to keep ourselves and other drivers safe on the roads. Most driving laws make sense, but some oddities slip through the cracks. Check out these weird Minnesota driving laws that are good for a laugh, but can also make you think.
Minnesota State Laws
If you enjoy riding a motorcycle, be sure you follow the strict dress code enforced by the state. In Minnesota “all men driving motorcycles must wear shirts.”
If you happen to leave the state of Minnesota, be sure you keep your head clear of animals because “a person may not cross state lines with a duck atop his head.” Citizens heading into Wisconsin must follow a similar rule, and cannot enter the state “with a chicken on their head.”

Minnesota City Weird Driving Laws

If you drive a red car in the city of Minneapolis, stay away from Lake Street. City laws state that “red cars may not drive down Lake Street.”
While it is not necessarily a driving law, anyone flying an airplane over the city of Cottage Grove should resist the temptation to land in a public park, as this is prohibited.
